Yomotsu-shikome

Yomotsu-shikome (黄泉 (よもつ) 醜女 (しこめ) , Yomotsu shikome^?, lit. "ugly women of the Underworld") are Izanami's attendants in Yomi who carry out her bidding. Although they are never explicitly titled in the series, they appear in the original Izanami & Izanagi myth^[1] and are named in the translation notes.^[2]

Alternatively, they are also known as yomotsu-hisame (泉津 (よもつ) 日狭女 (ひさめ) , yomotsu hisame^?).

Appearance[]

All yomotsu-shikome appear to be slim women with long, black hair and long nails. Their eyes are usually covered by their hair. The anime adaptation portrayed them to have dark blue skin.

The yomotsu-shikome appear to have a savage and malicious nature, eagerly tearing apart and killing Ebisu's shinki while chasing after him and Yato while they were in Yomi out of need for their company.
