Izanami (イザナミ) is the Queen of the Underworld. She is also the mother of Ebisu [1].

Appearance 

Izanami takes the appearance of whoever's eyes fall on her feels most comfortable with. In Yato's case, she takes the appearance of Hiyori, but in Ebisu's case she takes the appearance of an old lady who runs a western food shop which is the "The Olive House."

Personality

From her actions, it can be noted that she is quite lonely. It is also implied that she has a sweet nature, but she is also savage and barbarous.

Skills & Abilities

Masks Summoning is an ability she obtain from using the Mandate of Hell (Phantom Brush). She is able to summon phantoms without chanting or getting blighted or affixing a mask, unlike Ebisu.

Trivia

  • Izanami (She who Invites) is the seventh generation of Shinto's celestial gods. She is also the wife of Izanagi (He who Invites). Both came from the Japanese Creation Myth. There they bore a son named Hiruko which is associated with Ebisu's name meaning "leech child."
